The report from Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) shows that Animal agriculture accounts for at least half of all food-related greenhouse gas emissions. There is a promising evidences showing that plant based diets are less harmful to climate compared to relying on animal products. By recognizing this EAPAT has been taking a step forward to encouraging farmers to a gradual shift from livestock operations to plant based farming. Through this initiative 53.8 percent of the reached farmers agreed to initiate plant based gardens while lowering livestock operations gradually. The reached audience were informed on the usefulness of considering health food choices and also effective solutions to mitigate climate change. We target to reach more than 2896 cattle farmers and 1250 poultry farmers by the end of 2025, in 3 different regions of Tanzania.
